Our Goals:
We will renovate Cardinal Ritter's birthplace to:

1) Honor the legacy of one of New Albany, Indiana's most important Catholics;

2) Preserve Cardinal Ritter's boyhood call to the priesthood as an example for those who seek a life of service in the Church;

3) Ensure the Ritter home is used for a higher purpose in keeping with Cardinal Ritter's strong values.

4) Provide a small display area outlining Cardinal Ritter's achievements and how the Ritter home and family helped shape his character and life.

Cardinal Ritter's motto is still instructive today. Instead of worrying about finding a worthy use for the building, worthy uses have sought us out. Interested groups include a Hispanic ministry, an ecumenical coffeehouse and a family care center.
